Zvaigzdes

vaigdės in Lithuanian mythology are stars. vaigdės are daughters of Saulė and sometimes Mėnulis. One of most important vaigdės is Aurinė. Aurinės sisters are other important goddesses, like Vakarinė (the evening Venus, she who makes the bed for Saulė), Indraja (Jupiter), Sėlija (Saturn), iezdrė (Mars) and Vaivora (Mercury). God vaigdikis has substantial links with the vaigdės. These 6 sisters of Saulė were eldest daughters. 3 of them were living between people and 3 were shining in the sky. Vaivora was traveling on the earth only three days, Aurinė 9 and Indraja 27. Alternative: Zvaigznes (Latvian mythology)
