Zork Grand InquisitorZork Grand Inquisitor is a 1997 adventure game in the Zork series for the IBM compatible PC and Apple Macintosh. It was developed and published by Activision. The cast includes Erick Avari, Dirk Benedict, and Rip Taylor. In the game, the player, known as AFGNCAAP (Ageless Faceless Gender-Neutral Culturally-Ambiguous Adventure Person), joins forces with the Dungeon Master Dalboz, who was imprisoned in a lantern by the Grand Inquisitor, to find the three legendary objects that will restore all magic to the realm and destroy the Grand Inquisitor. The three artefacts feature in earlier Zork games: one of the Cubes of Foundation, the Coconut of Quendor and the Skull of Yoruk. The game begins in Port Foozle, which has been occupied by the Inquisition. The evening curfew has just begun. Megaphones in the streets continually spout humorous propaganda, such as the reminder that all Port Foozle inhabitants are required to have standard Inquisition loudspeakers in their homes, blaring standard Inquisition propaganda at all times. To punish violators of any of the whimsical and ridiculous rules and regulations, the Inquisition promises swift Totemization (a very bad thing), courtesy of Frobozz Electric, an offshoot of what was one the Frobozz Magic company before magic was banished. In Port Foozle, the player meets the TV star adventurer 'Antharia Jack', who is taken away by the Inquisition for Totemization after he exits his house in response to a fire in the street. In-game cut-scenes inform the player of how Antharia Jack is being treated, throughout play. The player eventually ends up in the Great Underground Empire itself, where there are hidden a great number of magic spells, which are automatically added ('gnustoed') to the player's spell book, which is given to the player by the Enchantress, Y'Gael. Some of the hidden spells include Rezrov, Igram, Throck, Voxam, Snavig and Zimdor. See Zork Magic for details.
