ZorglubZorglub is a fictional character in the Belgian comic strip Spirou et Fantasio. He was created by Andr Franquin during his years drawing the strip. He first featured in the series "Z comme Zorglub" (l959) and "Lombre du Z" (1960). Zorglub is a typical mad scientist and a reformed villain. His only true invention (as he admits) is the "zorglonde" (a mind-control radio wave) with which he steals other inventions in order to rule the world. He is an old acquaintance of the Count of Champignac from university times, but is a fearsome enemy during the first two albums in which he is featured! Megalomaniac, excentric, schizophrenic and with a big ego, he nonetheless makes foolish mistakes which are his downfall. In all the following albums where he appears he ceases to be an antagonist, but keeps on assuming his mad scientist persona, making him a source of trouble for everybody.
