Zophar's Domain

Zophar's Domain is an emulation news website founded on November 9, 1996. Created by Brad Levicoff, on September 20, 1998, the site was passed on to Sam Michaels, previously the site's CGI programmer. In early 2002, Nintendo of America invoked the DMCA and sent a letter to Zophar's Domain demanding that they stop selling Flash Advance Linkers, which they eventually did http://slashdot.org/yro/02/02/20/1627204.shtml?tid=155. The site includes news and downloads for emulators, translation patches, utilities, hacks, and video game soundtracks. Zophar's Domain does not provide ROMs, ISOs or BIOSes, and as such has been able to remain within the laws of copyright. Instead they only host original data, although their video game soundtrack section is argued to infringe on this. The website has been suggested as an "emulation hub", where all emulation enthusiasts congregate to provide their wares and converse at the message board, as well as keep up to date on the emulation scene, however it is sometimes said that Zophar's Domain is typically delayed in terms of the latest happenings, and as such that it should not be used in this manner.
