Zits''Zits is a slang term for acne.'' Zits is a comic strip about a teenager named Jeremy Duncan and his relationship with family and friends. The strip began in July 1997. Zits is drawn by Jerry Scott and Jim Borgman. Stylistic similarities to Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes have been noted by readers familiar with both strips. Characters - Jeremy Duncan: fifteen-year-old, interested in becoming a musician.
- Connie Duncan: Jeremy's mother, frustrated with Jeremy's one-word answers.
- Walt Duncan: Jeremy's father, an orthodontist, considered by Jeremy to be embarrassing.
- Hector Garcia: Jeremy's best friend, has morals a bit better than Jeremy, known for his bad choice in girlfriends.
- Sara Toomey: Jeremy's girlfriend, he thinks the world of her, she thinks of him as a "salvageable male." Also a patient of Jeremy's dad.
- Pierce: a member of Jeremy's band who has had about every part of his body pierced.
- RichandAmy: Richard and Amy hugged each other in seventh grade and never let go, and are now referred to as though they were one person.
- Chad Duncan: Jeremy's older brother, now in college.
- Phoebe: One of Jeremy's classmates. Constantly stressed out about getting into a good college, overworks herself frequently, lacks pupils due to having "sold her soul" for a few tenths of a point on her GPA.
- D'jonn: Pierce's girlfriend, and a friend of Sara's. Typically more level-headed than Sara.
- Autumn: Hector's girlfriend. Known for her extreme political and environmental views.
