that contains most of the graves of former
East German
(GDR) leaders including
Walter Ulbricht
who ordered the building of the
Berlin Wall

Wilhelm Pieck
, the first President of the GDR. Also among those buried there are
Karl Liebknecht
and
Rosa Luxemburg
, co-founders of the
Communist Party of Germany
