Zempin

Zempin is the smallest seaside resort on Usedom. It lies between Zinnowitz and Koserow at the closest place between Baltic Sea and figure eight water and administratively to the office Usedom center. To reach it is because of B 111 and is also over the Usedomer bath course (line Zuessow - Ahlbeck border) - station Zempin. The place was mentioned for the first time 1571. It was described as farmer and fishery village and stood at first under pommerscher, then Swedish and Prussian sovereignty. 1895 are built a beach hotel, thus for beginning of the seaside resort. 1911 receive Zempin railway connection, it join 1928 the German bath federation and to 1933 a sea-bridge are established, however in 2. World war again disintegrates. Between 1943 and 1945 in the forest area between Zinnowitz and Zempin of three built there starting places, V1-Marschflugkoerper for experimental purposes started. From the starter systems still some remnants are present. 1956 develop the camping site and since 1990 have Zempin the national acknowledgment as seaside resort.
