Zdzd is a city in Borsod-Abaj-Zempln county, Northern Hungary, 40 km away from county seat Miskolc. zd is the second largest city of the county. History The area has been inhabited since ancient times. The village zd was mentioned first in 1242. The modern city came into being with the unification of the towns zd, Bolyok and Sajvrkony during the Socialist era of Hungary, when the northern part of the country was developed into a centre of heavy industry.
