Yusuf Balasagun

Yusuf Balasagun or Jusup Balasagun was a 11th century Central Asian poet. Together with the other Kyrgyz philosopher Muhammad Kashgar he is regarded as one of the greatest thinkers of the century. The ancient city Balasagun was renamed in his honor. He completed in 1070 the Kutadgu Bilig, one of the first written literary monuments of the aesthetical thought of the Turkic people.
