Yitzhak Salkinsohn

Isaac Edward Salkinsohn (1820 - 1883), Hebrew יצחק סלקינסון (Yitzhak Salkinson), was a Jew who converted to Christianity, lived during the the Age of Enlightenment, and made his name as a translator into Hebrew. He was faithful to the original text, yet preserved the spirit of the Hebrew language, which he characterized as a biblical and liturgical language. His most famous translations:
