Yareta

Yareta is a tiny flower that grows in the Andes. Its latin name is Azorella Yareta, belonging to the family of Umbelliferae.

Location

Yareta can be found in the grasslands of the Andes in Peru, Bolivia and Chile between 3500 and 4500 Meters altitude.

Physical Characteristics

Yareta is an evergreen perennial being in leaf all year. The pink or lavender flowers are hermaphrodite (have both male and female organs) and are pollinated by Insects. The plant is self-fertile. The plant prefers light (sandy) and well-drained soils. It can grow in nutritionally poor environment, no matter if the soil is acid, neutral or basic (alkaline). But it cannot grow in the shade.
