Yarael Poof is a Jedi Master in the fictional Star Wars universe and one of the last members of the Jedi Council before the Great Jedi Purge. Most Star Wars fans will only recognize this Jedi Master by his appearance rather than name. When seen sitting on the Jedi Council he is the one with the tall slender neck; topped off by a bulbous head. Though his appearance may be comical to most, his close friends and past enemies know a different story. Poof, a sly and mysterious Jedi, was a master at the most advanced Jedi mind tricks. During a fight he would rarely use a lightsaber as his natural born telepathy allowed him to utterly confuse and mislead any enemy by placing disturbing (or simply distracting) images in their minds. The sly Master Yarael Poof could also make objects explode. Though he rarely needed to use a lightsaber, he still carried one and, if need of it arose, he was a dangerous opponent. This might be due in part to the additional pair of arms concealed beneath his robes. Something else we don't see on screen is that Poof sported two brains. One in his head and the other in his chest cavity. Master Poof died 27 years before the Battle of Yavin. He gave his life saving Coruscant from a band of terrorists who had secured a weapon powerful enough to destroy the entire planet. In this, his final battle, he was aided by the bounty hunters Jango Fett and Zam Wessell. He died a hero, and his body was burned on a traditional Jedi funeral pyre. His fellow Jedi deeply mourned his loss.
