Ya Kid K

Ya Kid K (born 1972, Kinshasa) is the artist name of Manuela 'Ya Kid K' Kamosi, a Congo-Belgian hip-hop artist. Her sister, Karoline 'Leki' Kamosi, is an R&b singer. Ya is a Lingala word, meaning older brother or sister, so Ya Kid K simply means: the older Kamosi child. When she was 15 years old, she left Belgium (alone) and went to Chicago. There she became the rapper of the new-beat/hip-hop group Technotronic, who had a major worldwide hit in 1990 with "Pump Up The Jam".
