Y Linkage

Y-linkage is a gene found on the Y chromosome, but not the X chromosome. It is a characteristic of a genetic disease only present in men, passed on to sons, because only men have a Y-chromosome. The Y-chromosome is small and does not contain many genes, therefore few traits are Y-linked. It is speculated that some of these genes include the formation of testes and masculinization in the fetus.
