Xdir<XDir> is a solution for creating catalogs of digital documents, and producing multimedia presentations. It is used by organizations and individuals who manage collections of documents: videos, photographs, audio recordings, textual or binary data. provides the tools needed to register, classify, search, list and publish digital collections. Based on the classic Windows Explorer interface, it makes it particularly easy to build catalogs of digital files. Users have full control over the structure of these catalogs. The process of creating presentations from these catalogs is fully automated. Presentations are derived from user-defined templates and their output format may be any SGML compliant language: HTML for static web galleries, SMIL for multimedia slide shows, etc. Users have full control over the contents and layout of the presentations. For data storage and output, conforms to the widely accepted XML standard. does not use any proprietary file format to store its data.
