Xanthus (City)
Xanthus was the name of an ancient city in
Lycia
, now southwest
Turkey
. It was besieged on two occasions: first, by the
Persians
circa
546 BC
; second, by the
Romans
circa
42 BC
. The city was destroyed both times.
