Wynkyn De Worde

Wynkyn de Worde, born in Alsace, was the successor to William Caxton in his English printing business, taking over and running Caxton's press after his death. He also introduced italic type in England from 1524. Books he printed include: Approximately 750 books are known to have been printed by Worde, although many are only extant in single copies, with many others being extremely rare.
