Wwf Undisputed Title

The "WWE Undisputed Title" was the championship title created at the WWE Vengeance pay-per-view on December 9, 2001 after Chris Jericho defeated WCW World Champion The Rock and WWE Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin on the same night and unifying both titles, thus becoming the "Undisputed Champion". During his reign, Chris Jericho held on to the two belts until he was defeated by Triple H on March 17, 2002 at Wrestlemania 18. As part of the new "Brand Extension" angle by the WWE, Ric Flair became the owner of WWE Raw and presented Triple H with one brand new championship belt. The new belt featured a name plate, adopting it from the WCW belt. When the superstars became show exclusive only the undisputed champion was allowed on both Raw and Smackdown. The Undisputed Title was dissolved when the Champion, Brock Lesnar refused to defend the title on Raw, the championship became Smackdown exclusive. As a result WWE Raw general-manager, Eric Bischoff decided to revive the WCW Championship belt, renaming it the "World Heaviweight Championship" and made it Raw exclusive. With two separate championships again, the Undisputed Championship was renamed back to the "WWE Championship".
