General Information

FM radio station in Zion, Illinois located at 96.9MHz. WWDV plays classic rock as "The Drive" and broadcasts with an effective radiated power of 50kW WWDV is currently owned by Bonneville International (part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints).

History

The station began in the early 1960s in Kenosha, Wisconsin as WAXO. In 1969, the station changed call letters to become WKZN. Around 1973(?), the station moved to Zion. In 1983, the station was purchased by WNIB and changed call letters to WNIZ. In 2001, the station was purchased by Bonneville, became WTNX, and began a simulcast of Chicago station WTMX "The Mix". Since January 1, 2003, WWDV has simulcast Chicago station WDRV.
