Worshipful Company Of Fruiterers

The Worshipful Company of Fruiterers is one of the Livery Companies of the City of London. The Company was founded in 1463 and received a Royal Charter in 1605. In its early years, the Company was responsible for the inspection of fruit imported into the City. At present, it retains a connection to the trade, instead of becoming a charitable institution, as many other Livery Companies have done. The Company ranks forty-fifth in the order of precedence of Livery Companies. Its motto is Deus Dat Incrementum, Latin for God Gives the Increase.
