Wormdiggers
are found mostly in the state of
Maine
. They harvest both
sandworms
and
bloodworms
from mudflats all over the
Maine
coast. There are well over 2,000 wormdiggers. The industry is heavily regulated. A license must be obtained prior to the sale of marine worms and the harvesting itself must be done by hand with a tool called a
worm hoe
.
