Word Grammar
Word grammar
is a grammar model developed by
Richard Hudson
. It is based on the
systemic functional grammar
and includes ideas of other grammar models as well. Word grammar is in the tradition of
cognitive linguistics
, modeling language as part of general knowledge and not as a specialised mental faculty. This is in contrast to
Transformational grammar
, introduced by
Noam Chomsky
.
