woolong

In the anime fiction television series Cowboy Bebop, the Woolong is the universal currency used by humans in the solar system, it is somewhat rarely used as actual paper currency but usually used as a method of payment by transaction from one account to an other. Woolongs can also be carried on portable electronic devices which can network to ATMs and other portable devices in order to transfer currency. While never explicitly said, one woolong is assumed to be equivalent to one modern Japanese yen. The symbol for woolong is ₩, which is identical to the Korean won currency symbol.
