Wolfgang Schneiderhan

Wolfgang Eduard Schneiderhan (born May 28, 1915) is a classical violinist. He was born in Vienna, studied there, and in 1926 made his debut in Copenhagen playing the Mendelssohn violin concerto. He was concertmaster of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra from 1933 to 1937, and later led the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. He formed a string quartet, played in a piano trio with Edwin Fischer and Enrico Mainardi, and became known as a soloist. He held teaching posts in Salzburg, Vienna and Lucerne.
