Wisconsin Public RadioWisconsin Public Radio is a network of radio stations in the state of Wisconsin devoted to public radio programming. There are 27 stations in WPR's network, in two groups. The first, the Ideas Network, is devoted almost exclusively to talk radio programming. The second, The NPR News and Classical Network devotes itself primarily to classical music broadcasting, but has access to National Public Radio news, which is broadcast regularly. WPR's Madison, Wisconsin station WHA 970 AM claims to be the oldest radio station in the United States, although the claim is disputed. It is unusual that WHA was allowed to continue broadcasting during World War I while most stations were shut down, so a claim for "oldest continuous broadcaster" could be valid.
