Wilson (Ttc)Wilson is a station on the Yonge-University Spadina line of the Toronto subway. It is located in the median of W.R. Allen Road at 570 Wilson Avenue, and it opened in 1978. Wilson was once the northern terminus of the Spadina line, but with the extension to Downsview station some of the bus routes have moved from the station. An additional bus platform was mothballed and now serves a storage area. Across from the station is the Wilson Complex (open in 1977), which houses the systems largest subway marshalling yard (took over YUS line operations from Davisville in 1993) and bus garage (servicing most bus routes in north Toronto). Bus routes connecting to Wilson included: - 96 Wilson - connecting to York Mills Station
- 29 Dufferin - connecting to Dufferin Station
- 7 Bathurst - connection to Bathurst Station
- 120 Calvinton
- 160 Bathurst North
- 165 Weston Road North
It is located near the southern end of Downsview Park (formerly Downsview Airport); large events at the park, such as visits by the Pope and benefit concerts, have seen heavy use of this station. A sculpture by Ted Beiler entitled Canyons is located at the mezzanine level. External links
