Williams Creek, IndianaWilliams Creek is a town located in Marion County, Indiana. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 413. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 712. It has existed as an "included town" since 1970, when it was incorporated into Indianapolis as part of Unigov, losing governmental powers thereto. It is legally part of Indianapolis, according to Indiana Code 36-3-1-4 sec. 4(a)(2), which states that the territory of a consolidated city (Indianpolis/Unigov) shall include "all other territory in the county except territory of an excluded city." While it is claimed that these "included towns" retain town status as defined by the state constitution, the current constitution of the state of Indiana does not define town status. Geography Williams Creek is located at 39°54'5" North, 86°8'58" West (39.901439, -86.149371). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.9 km² (0.3 mi²). 0.9 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 413 people, 157 households, and 127 families residing in the town. The population density is 469.0/km² (1,221.1/mi²). There are 163 housing units at an average density of 185.1/km² (481.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 97.58% White, 0.24% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.73% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.24% from other races, and 1.21% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 157 households out of which 35.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 75.8% are married couples living together, 4.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 19.1% are non-families. 12.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.63 and the average family size is 2.91. In the town the population is spread out with 25.2% under the age of 18, 3.9% from 18 to 24, 18.6% from 25 to 44, 36.1% from 45 to 64, and 16.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 46 years. For every 100 females there are 87.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 87.3 males. The median income for a household in the town is $172,996, and the median income for a family is $186,766. Males have a median income of $100,000 versus $49,583 for females. The per capita income for the town is $82,132. 1.2% of the population and 0.0% of families are below the poverty line.
