William Wentworth (Australian Politician)

William Charles Wentworth IV (1907-2003), was a Liberal (conservative) member of the Australian House of Representatives 1949-77, with a reputation as a fierce anti-Communist. A strong advocate for the improvement in the situation of Aboriginal Australians, he lobbied hard and successfully for a referendum to remove a discrimatory clause in the federal constitution.
