william somerset, 3rd earl of worcester

William Somerset, 3rd Earl of Worcester (c. 1526- 21 February 1589) was born before 1526 to Henry Somerset, 2nd Earl of Worcester and Margaret Courtenay. On November 26th, 1549, he succeeded his father and became the 3rd Earl of Worcester. He married Christian North before May 19th, 1550. Somerset died on February 21st, 1589. He was invested as Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1570. He supported Lady Jane Grey in 1553. He and his wife had one son, Edward Somerset, 4th Earl of Worcester, his heir and successor.
