William Forsythe (Dancer)

William Forsythe is an American who became known internationally for his work with the Frankfurt Ballet. Worked also with Sylvie Guillem and The Royal Ballet. Works include 'In the middle, somehwat elevated', 'Hermann Schmermann'. Collaborated with Australian contemporary dance company 'Leigh Warren and Dancers' on 'Quick Brown Fox' in the early 2000s. His work is extremely Post-modern spirited ballet with a great use of distorted classical ballet techniques, sometimes so that it is barely recognisable except for the use of pointe shoes. Dancing Forsythe's choreography is extremely taxing and demands unusual extremes of strength, flexibility and speed.
