Wilfrid Mellers

Wilfrid Mellers (b. April 26, 1914) is a music critic, musicologist and avant-garde composer. He is an emeritus professor of music at the University of York in England and an honorary fellow at Downing College. On July 12, 1981, he received an honorary degree of music from the City University, London. The 2004 York Late Music Festival opened with a weekend tribute to Mellers.
