Geography Wiley Ford is located at 39°36'58" North, 78°46'30" West (39.616008, -78.774898). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 7.5 km² (2.9 mi²). 7.5 km² (2.9 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,095 people, 463 households, and 308 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 146.3/km² (378.6/mi²). There are 515 housing units at an average density of 68.8/km² (178.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 99.09% White, 0.27% Black or African American, 0.09% Native American, 0.09% Asian, and 0.46% from two or more races. There are no Pacific Islanders or people of other races. 0.18% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 463 households out of which 26.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.6% are married couples living together, 8.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 33.3% are non-families. 28.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.37 and the average family size is 2.90. In the CDP the population is spread out with 23.2% under the age of 18, 5.1% from 18 to 24, 27.7% from 25 to 44, 27.6% from 45 to 64, and 16.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 41 years. For every 100 females there are 95.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 95.1 males. The median income for a household in the CDP is $32,017, and the median income for a family is $37,422. Males have a median income of $31,979 versus $20,880 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $15,380. 10.6% of the population and 5.3% of families are below the poverty line.
