Geography White Oak is located at 39°12'50" North, 84°35'49" West (39.213993, -84.596903). According to the United States Census Bureau, the community has a total area of 10.6 km² (4.1 mi²). 10.6 km² (4.1 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 13,277 people, 5,263 households, and 3,647 families residing in the community. The population density is 1,253.4/km² (3,242.7/mi²). There are 5,464 housing units at an average density of 515.8/km² (1,334.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the community is 93.88% White, 3.55% African American, 0.17% Native American, 1.09% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.41% from other races, and 0.91% from two or more races. 1.08% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 5,263 households out of which 33.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.0% are married couples living together, 10.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.7% are non-families. 26.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.52 and the average family size is 3.07. In the community the population is spread out with 26.5% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 29.2% from 25 to 44, 21.4% from 45 to 64, and 14.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 94.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 88.5 males. The median income for a household in the community is $45,306, and the median income for a family is $55,736. Males have a median income of $41,728 versus $28,768 for females. The per capita income for the community is $23,687. 5.1% of the population and 3.9% of families are below the poverty line.
