What's Love Got To Do With It? (Movie)

What's Love Got to Do with It? is a 1993 autobiographical film which tells the life story of Tina Turner. It stars Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne. The film paints a dark picture of her relationship with her mentor and husband, Ike Turner. The movie was adapted by Kate Lanier from the book I, Tina by Tina Turner and Kurt Loder. It was directed by Brian Gibson. It was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Laurence Fishburne) and Best Actress in a Leading Role (Angela Bassett).
