Wews

WEWS-TV (Channel 5) is the local ABC affiliate in Cleveland, Ohio. It first went on the air on December 17, 1947, the first television station in Ohio. It was, and still is, owned by the E.W. Scripps Company; the call letters denote the initials of the parent company's founder. Its transmitter is located in Parma, Ohio. The digital counterpart to WEWS-TV operates on channel 15.
