Westgate Hotel

The Westgate Hotel is a historic building in the centre of Newport, and is famous as the scene of the 1839 Chartist riot. Bullet holes from that insurrection can still be seen in pillars in the frame of the main door. Originally a hotel, it has since been converted into a parade of shops and entertainment complex.
