Geography West Mineral is located at 37°17'0" North, 94°55'34" West (37.283404, -94.926130). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.9 km² (0.3 mi²). 0.9 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 243 people, 100 households, and 73 families residing in the city. The population density is 275.9/km² (709.2/mi²). There are 121 housing units at an average density of 137.4/km² (353.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 96.30% White, 0.00% African American, 2.06% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.65% from two or more races. 2.47% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 100 households out of which 28.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.0% are married couples living together, 13.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 27.0% are non-families. 23.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.43 and the average family size is 2.82.
