West Indies dollar
was a
currency
used by the
British West Indies
and, later, by the
West Indies Federation
. It was adopted in
1935
, originally at the rate of
$4
.80 per
Pound sterling
. In
1962
,
British Guyana
and
Trinidad and Tobago
withdrew from the currency union. It was replaced in
1965
with the
East Caribbean dollar
.
