Werburgh

Werburgh (also known as Werburga) (d. February 3, 699) is an English saint. She was born in Staffordshire and was the daughter of King Wulfhere of Mercia and his wife Ermenilda. She was a nun for most of her life. Tutored under Etheldreda, Werburgh was instrumental in convent reform across England. She was reputed to have had the ability to read minds. She is the patron saint of Chester. Her feast day is February 3.
