Welsumer

Welsumer is a chicken breed from The Netherlands. It was bred from among others Rhode Island Red and Barnevelder at the beginning of the 20th century. It is a heavy, calm breed, with rustic-red and orange colour. Its eggs are dark-brown and spotty. There is also a dwarf breed which is similar but with light brown eggs.
