Weiwurstquator

The Weiwurstäquator (literally: white sausage equator) is a humorous term describing an imaginary border running through Germany that divides the country into the Southern part in which Weiwurst is consumed and the Northern part, in which these sausages are neither eaten nor considered edible. The Weiwurstäquator more or less coincides with the river Danube and the isogloss that divides High German from Middle German (see also German language and Benrath line).
