Wedge Anchor

A wedge anchor is an anchor used to hold towers or buildings that is installed in a solid base material (such as concrete) after the base material has hardened. The installed end of the anchor consists of a conical portion around which a metal clip is fastened. When the anchor is set (usually through application of a tension load through torqing) the cone pull up through the clip and expands the clip against the side walls of the hole. This gives the anchor its resistance to tension.
