Webmarks

Similar to the Favorites or Bookmarks of a web browser, Webmarks are a collection of pointers to internet URLs. However unlike a web browser, these links are stored on a central server accessible from anywhere with a connection to the internet. This provides an advantage over traditional Bookmarks as individuals who use more than one computer will always have a quick reference to their favorite websites. Webmark collections are most often relevant to only a single individual and are kept private but some Webmark services allow sharing collections with others. A common use of shared Webmarks is for collections that interest groups of people and the general public (webdesign, photography, science, etc.). Some webmark managers, such as Del.icio.us provide a browser tool which facilitates the creation of Webmarks while web surfing.
