Geography Waverly Hall is located at 32°41'5" North, 84°44'18" West (32.684607, -84.738405). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 8.8 km² (3.4 mi²). 8.7 km² (3.4 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.47% water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 709 people, 249 households, and 176 families residing in the town. The population density is 81.5/km² (211.2/mi²). There are 267 housing units at an average density of 30.7/km² (79.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 50.92% White, 47.53% African American, 0.14% Native American, 0.56% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.14% from other races, and 0.71% from two or more races. 0.56% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 249 households out of which 31.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.2% are married couples living together, 20.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 29.3% are non-families. 27.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.46 and the average family size is 2.94. In the town the population is spread out with 22.4% under the age of 18, 4.9% from 18 to 24, 20.5% from 25 to 44, 28.3% from 45 to 64, and 23.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 46 years. For every 100 females there are 78.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 76.8 males. The median income for a household in the town is $30,250, and the median income for a family is $36,458. Males have a median income of $40,000 versus $16,923 for females.
