Waverley, New Zealand

Waverley is a small town (population at the 2001 census: 903) located in Taranaki, 47 miles northwest of Wanganui. It was an important colonial stronghold during the Maori wars of the 1860s, during which time the town was called Wairoa. The town is well known for its thoroughbred stables.
