Watertown is a town located in Dodge County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,876. (This is the same city as Watertown, Jefferson County, Wisconsin, but the statistics are separated by county.)

Geography

Watertown is located at 43°11'35" North, 88°43'25" West (43.193066, -88.723774).
  to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 100.8 km² (38.9 mi²).  99.4 km² (38.4 mi²) of it is land and 1.4 km² (0.5 mi²) of it is water.  The total area is 1.36% water. 

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 1,876 people, 684 households, and 547 families residing in the town. The population density is 18.9/km² (48.9/mi²). There are 715 housing units at an average density of 7.2/km² (18.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 98.40% White, 0.27% African American, 0.11% Native American, 0.43% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.48% from other races, and 0.32% from two or more races. 1.33% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 684 households out of which 33.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.9% are married couples living together, 5.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 19.9% are non-families. 15.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.72 and the average family size is 3.03. In the town the population is spread out with 24.8% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 27.1% from 25 to 44, 29.2% from 45 to 64, and 11.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 39 years. For every 100 females there are 105.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 109.0 males. The median income for a household in the town is $52,667, and the median income for a family is $55,150. Males have a median income of $39,177 versus $25,027 for females. The per capita income for the town is $21,298. 2.7% of the population and 1.9% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 1.2% of those under the age of 18 and 6.5% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
