Waterloo, Belgium

Waterloo is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Walloon Brabant. On January 1st, 2004 Waterloo had a total population of 29,003 (13,834 males and 15,169 females). The total area is 21.03 km² which gives a population density of 1,379.25 inhabitants per km². It is the site of the famous Battle of Waterloo. One quarter of the registered population are foreigners (non-Belgian). Most work for institutions in Brussels, the Capital of the European Union.
