Washington Gubernatorial Election, 1996

The state of Washington holds its gubernatorial elections every four years, concurrently with United States presidential elections. The 1996 gubernatorial election was especially significant in that it resulted in Washington electing the first Asian-American governor in the United States, Democrat Gary Locke.
