Warwick, Queensland
The
Queensland
city of
Warwick
lies 130km south-west of
Brisbane
. It has a population of just around 12,000 people. Warwick is situated on the
Condamine River
. One of the first settlers was
Patrick Leslie
and his two brothers. The first
land
sales were held in 1850. The
telegraph
to Brisbane was operating by 1861. The
Cunningham Highway
and the
New England Highway
pass through the town.
