Wartortle is more aggressive than its basic form, Squirtle; it hides in water to stalk unwary prey, and uses its furry ears and tail to steer while swimming. Wartortle, and in particular its tail, is also a symbol of longevity; old Wartortles can be recognized by algae growing on their shells. Name origin Wartortle's name is probably a combination of "War," "Tortoise," and "Turtle." Availability In all of the Pokmon games, Wartortle can only be obtained by evolving a Squirtle. Therefore, the availability of Squirtle dictates the availability of Wartortle. Strengths / weaknesses Wartortle is vulnerable to Grass and Electric, and strong against Fire, Water, Ice and Steel.
